October Glossy Box. It's Finally Here!

I finally received my Glossy Box and I'm so excited about it! Glossy Box is one of those beauty boxes which are already all big and famous all around the world and it finally set up in Italy too.
I subscribed out of curiousity and I think I'll pay for the next box too because I'm quite happy with the products I got this month.
How does it work? You pay about 15 euros per month, free shipping, and you can unsubscribe whenever you want and register again to the website if you decide to get the beauty box just for that month.

Ok, let's see what I got in the box:

*NUXE Huile Prodigieuse: a sort of multi-purpouse oil which is supposed to be very good for your body/hair/nails.
*PAYOT Hydra 24 Crème: an hydtrading face moisturizer.
*HAIRMED Cheratin Recostructing Treatment: a shampoo, leaving-in conditioner and mask, all cheratine-based.
*I COLONIALI Body Cream: a full size super nourishing cream for your body.
*NEE MAKE UP Milano mini Mascara: a travel size lengthening mascara.
*CND SolarOil: despite the name, it's an oil which is supposed to strenghten and nourish your cuticles and nails.

I don't know most of these brands but they all sound pretty good and the products are actually very interesting and I'm sure I'll use them.
I will do separate reviews soon to give you my opinion on these goodies!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

MaxFactor Xperience.

I officially stole this lip product from my sister's makeup collection. I couldn't resist. But she doesn't know yet.
This is my new love and makeup addiction: Max Factor Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm in Purple Orchid (#05). It reminds me of MAC's Slimshines, as it combines a sheer colour payoff and a creamy emollient formula.
It's an hybrid between a lipstick/lipgloss and a lipbalm: it looks and apllies like a lipstick but it has the consistency of a lipbalm, which goes on very creamy and smooth. The formula is actually enriched with mango-butter and shea-butter, so it's supposed to be very nourishing for your lips.
But, as I said, it leaves just a very sheer layer of colour, with a little bit of shimmer, and it doesn't last very long on your lips.
Purple Orchid looks really dark in the tube but, when you apply it, it turns out like a sheer purple shade, which looks very pretty on every skin tone. It's not sticky at all, although it leaves an almost glossy finish to your lips. (i hope you can tell from the swatch)

It has a scent, which smells absolutely pleasant to me, but I know it might bother some of you.
Oh, and it has SPF10 in it, which surprises me.
Overall, a really nice product, definitely not recommended if you're looking for an opaque or rich textured lipstick, but perfect if you like glosses but despise the stickyness of some of them.

Uncontrolled Craving.

I'm a 'ballerina flat' - person, I think they are the most comfortable shoes in the whole world. I like the feeling of walking practically barefoot and I think that my collection of flats is getting ridiculously huge. I do not go for heels and I don't usually go for lace-up shoes.
So, why am I so intrigued by this whole Oxford lace-up boots trend? The picture is by Diego D'Alessandro taken from Io Donna magazine (10/08/2011). I was seriously thinking to go out and look for a pair of shoes like that as soon as I saw the picture.
Those are uber expensive, but I know that a lot of shops are selling cheaper version of this kind of shoes for this season.
1.R. Del Carlo €320
2. Samsonite €139
3. Nero Giardini €139
4. Janet Sports €125

Cheerfullness.

I am a sucker for nail polishes, you know that already.
But glitters are my latest, painful addition to my polish-addiction. It's a kind of love/hate relationship, to be honest with you.
Glitters are a pain to remove, you know you will regret the time you purchased that mesmerising bottle of polish in the exact moment you put it on your nails.
But I can't help it, I love how they look on my nails and there's something about them that makes me smile.
The polish that'd be in my wishlist is Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday nail polish, the one the website describes as "party in a bottle". But there are two little problems that divide me and this gorgeous polish a) it's pretty expensive b) I can't find an online store which sells it and ships to Italy.
Hence, my latest purchase: a cheap dupe by Essence, Circus Confetti.

I think it's miles away from the quality and the consistency of Deborah Lippmann's polishes, but it's a good cheap alternative for now.
I guess it's not as thick as the original polish I was going for, but it does its job pretty nicely.
It's a mix of fine and big chuncky glitter particles, a perfect top coat for any shade. Glitters lies pretty flat but I prefer to apply a clear top coat just to smooth the surface of my nail and make it look more even.
For € 2.99, you can't really go wrong with it!

please excuse my horrendous cuticles, I apologise

Maybelline One By One Mascara.

1.No mascara on
2. One coat
3. Two coats

This mascara is one of my all time favourites. It is so easy to use and it gives your lashes all they need: volume, lenght and definition. All in one product, which sounds perfect, doesn't it?
The wand has the perfect length and allows you to have the right amount of control during the application. The brush itself is quite fat, with short plastic bristles, so it might not be the right mascara to use for bottom lashes as the application might be a bit tricky. Personally, this is something which does not bother me.
The formula is not too wet, which is a plus for me, but it manages not dry out quickly, so you can actually use the product for months.
It does not clump on your lashes, even if you put more than two coats, and I've found it to be very long lasting - at least on me.
If  have to find a downside, it'd be the packaging. It's bright pink, with neon green writings on it, which does not really appeal me. Plus, it's one of those fat, cheap looking bottles which I'm not really a fan of.
But, whatever. Nevertheless, the product is really an amazing mascara, totally a winner for me.
